Fat freezing vs CoolSculpting

They are the same science. CoolSculpting is a brand name for cryolipolysis, which is what fat freezing is. So the honest question is not which technology wins, it is who you want performing it and how much of the area they will actually treat.

What actually differs

One row is the same for both. The rest is where the difference in your result comes from.

The technology

Identical

Both are cryolipolysis: controlled cooling that crystallises fat cells so the body clears them over the following weeks. CoolSculpting is a brand name for this technology, not a different science. Anyone telling you otherwise is selling you something.

Who performs it

Differs

Here, every treatment is performed by me, the same person who assessed you. At a larger clinic or a chain, the assessment and the treatment are often done by different people, and applicator placement is the single biggest determinant of the result.

How much is covered

Differs

Most cryolipolysis treatments freeze one applicator-sized patch at a time. The 6 Pack Fat Freeze® maps and treats the entire midsection in one protocol, so the result is balanced from every angle rather than a treated patch beside an untreated one.

What you pay

Differs

Prices here are £175 to £500 depending on the area, quoted as a fixed price from a photograph before you commit. Chain pricing is typically quoted per applicator per cycle after an in-person consultation, which makes the total harder to know up front.

What happens afterwards

Differs

You are photographed at every stage in the same conditions and reviewed formally at twelve weeks. If a second step would not add anything, I will tell you that rather than sell you another cycle.

Judge for yourself

The only comparison that matters

Photographs of my own clients, taken in the same conditions at every stage. Ask any provider you are considering for the same.

Questions people ask before switching

Is fat freezing the same as CoolSculpting?
The underlying technology is the same. CoolSculpting is a brand name for cryolipolysis, which is the clinical term for freezing fat cells so the body clears them. Different manufacturers make cryolipolysis machines and the applicators and protocols vary, but the mechanism is identical. What differs between providers is the service: who assesses you, who performs the treatment, how much of the area is covered, and what happens at follow-up.
Is one more effective than the other?
That is not a question anyone can answer honestly in the abstract, and you should be sceptical of a clinic that claims otherwise. Cryolipolysis results depend far more on assessment and applicator placement than on the badge on the machine. The fair way to judge any provider is to look at their own client photographs, taken in consistent conditions, and to ask who will actually be treating you.
Why is CoolSculpting usually more expensive?
Brand-name treatments carry the cost of the brand, and chains carry the overheads of multiple sites and staff. I run one clinic and treat clients myself, so there is less to pay for. That is the whole of the explanation, and it is why I quote a fixed price from a photograph rather than pricing per cycle.
Can I switch to you after CoolSculpting elsewhere?
Yes, and a number of clients do, often because one area was treated and the surrounding area was not. Send a photograph and I will tell you honestly what can still be improved, including if the answer is that you have already had the result the area can give.
